'Lost' Thin Lizzy tapes resurface 26 years after Phil Lynott's death
My Boy: The Philip Lynott Story, the sensational No 1 best seller is
now available as an e-book on Amazon Kindle and via Apple's iTunes for reading on iBooks.
Written by Philomena Lynott with Jackie Hayden, My Boy: The Philip Lynott Story became a best-seller, holding down the No 1 slot in Irish Book charts (Non-fiction) for 7 weeks in 2011, going on to become one of the most talked about books of the year.
The 2011 edition covers developments in Philomena's life since the book was first published, as well as full details about the birth of her other son and daughter, and why she kept their existence hidden for over fifty years – to the extent that even Philip never met them. Philomena also deals with recent events in the continuing saga of Thin Lizzy, and the loss of her life-long partner Dennis.
My Boy: The Philip Lynott Story, is an emotional rollercoaster that courageously confronts issues of drugs, single motherhood, emigration and adoption, and tells of Philomena's heart-warming re-discovery of the son and daughter she thought she'd never see again. As a special bonus, the new edition contains world exclusive interviews with Philip's half-brother Leslie James and his half-sister Philomena.
“A book to move your heart and touch your soul, like the best of Philip Lynott’s music” – Frank McGuinness.

STILL MISSING YOU
© 2011.Coamhin O`Nuallain
In a run down bar, playing bass guitar,
you showed `em how to sing,
speakers boomed,as a black rose bloomed,
into a beautiful thing,
a poet and a sage, you owned that stage,
in a way that was almost regal,
but you were street wise and tough,
when you strutted your stuff,
with the one and only Black Eagles,
Roisin Dubh, in the stars above,
still missing you,
Roisin Dubh, can you feel the love,
that's coming through,
Roisin Dubh, in the stars above,
still missing you.
Got drunk with Lizzie, she made us dizzy,
with "whiskey in the jar",
and when the "boys came back",
we had the craic,
from Dublin to U.S.S.R,
those wild days gone, but your music lives on,
in platinum and gold,
`cause when god made Phil, to top the bill,
he threw away the mould.
Roisin Dubh, in the stars above,
still missing you,
Roisin Dubh, can you feel the love,
that's coming through,
Roisin Dubh, in the stars above,
still missing you.

The Acclaimed PHILIP LYNOTT EXHIBITION Returns to Dublin
The Philip Lynott Exhibition returns to the Stephen's Green Shopping Centre in Dublin for a second run, beginning on Wednesday July 6.
The highly acclaimed exhibition, which brought visitors to Dublin from all over the world since it opened in March, will now return to Dublin for the months of July and August, with a programme of events being lined up to bring additional fun and entertainment to the run.
The Exhibition features an additional treasure trove of items, which were added just a week before its last run ended. Chief among these is Lynott's personal diary for 1972, which was recently unearthed by former Lizzy tour manager Frank Murray, as well as personal material from Philip's childhood and hand-written song lyrics.
"We extended the original run twice, but there are still huge numbers of people that weren't able to make it along who want to see the exhibition", Niall Stokes, editor of Ireland's Hot Press magazine commented. "A lot of the interest has come from abroad where people who've been in Dublin and seen the exhibition have gone home and told their friends".
"People will be fascinated by his thoughts about Gale, one of the original loves of his life, and there's a new previously unseen lyric of a song-in-the-making", Stokes added.
There is also reference to a jam session with Donovan, his mother Philomena Lynott and The Woods Band, along with details of Lizzy's New Year's gigs and how much they were paid for each of them.
The exhibition has already attracted visitors from the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Serbia, Japan, Brazil, Argentina, the USA, Canada and many more countries around the world, as well as from all over the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
The run will encompass Philip Lynott's birthday, on August 20th, when a special 'Boys Are Back In Town’ pageant is already planned for the city. Costumes for the pageant are currently being produced in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and are set to bring the colour and exuberance of Brazilian carnival to the streets of Dublin. Among those involved in the pageant will be the Brazilian community in Ireland as well as young people from the Smithfield and Darndale areas of the city.
"We're expecting huge numbers to visit the exhibition in Dublin over the summer, and especially around Philip's birthday," Mark Hogan of Hot Press said. "We got an overwhelming reaction from everyone who attended to date and we have continued to get emails from overseas, requesting us to re-open the exhibition . It is something that we want to share with the wider community of Thin Lizzy fans across Ireland – and indeed all over the world."
The Philip Lynott Exhibition will return to The Stephen's Green Shopping Centre in Dublin from July 6 – August 31, 2011. The exhibition is home to the biggest ever collection of memorabilia, song lyrics, exhibits, paintings, tributes and photographs of the late rock legend.

Talk in ’11
The lights dim, the crowd roar
Twenty five years on, they still want more.
Gnasher bite and start the show
Tony Powell mellows and takes it low.
Conor’s quartet rocked it back up
Mark,we dig you man.
Matt and Phil rocked from the start
And Leanne showed she still has harte
Pat Mc’s needle was back in the groove
While the Hoodoos made a devil out of Glen
Then Eric The Rocker, rocked again.
The Queen as always delivered her speech
And we listened to every word
Robbo did his best against the odds
He showed who’s boss, despite the turds
And so it was over for yet another year.
Will there be another?
Smiley, do you hear?

Jan Schelhaas played organ on "Vagabonds of the Western World" Sometime between then and Scott & Brian's time Philip asked Jan round to his flat in West Hampstead for a jam and a 'cup of tea'.
The only thing portable enough for Jan to carry was a clavinet D6.
They recorded a couple of tunes (a bluesy version of Nightlife and an early version of 'home boys home' on his Revox and bouncing vocals and overdubs as they went.
Jan recently found an old cassette he’d made of their efforts at the time and had a go at cleaning it up a bit.
Needless to say its very rough however many thanks Jan.
Take a listen:
**'Home Boys Home' is usually attributed to The Dubliners and Luke Kelly (though not exclusively) who sang it much faster although many folk acts also sang it slower
Philip used part of the melody and adapted it in his song 'Philomena
(For Philip - Jan 4th 1996)
Amid the tumult, amid the din,
Always the words,
What key are we in?
While others played their cards close to their chests,
Tried to keep the answers hidden, locked away,
You were always on for cracking the combination,
Bursting into that dispensary of dreams.
What key?
The question I first heard you ask
The night we jammed with Ditch down the Go-Go.
Willie had been delivering coal that afternoon
And he and the others worked up a sweat
While you and I
Crouched in the cloakroom,
Unseen,
Ready to be called,
Waiting to be delivered.
And what was the key?
I envy those who know for sure.
I pray for those of us for whom
Time runs out.
