Certain songs on all their albums are favourites but I always come back to "Vagabonds of the Western World". I always loved the imagery that the album offered. The iconic cover by Jim Fitzpatrick is also my favourite cover

test
My top 5 is:
1. Black Rose (It's simply the best!)
2. Thin Lizzy (so nice songs there)
3. Vagabonds of the Western World (Awesome guitar solos
4. Jailbreak (simply great)
5. Johnny The Fox Meets Jimmy the Weed (Nice)
Life/Live......???? Because it is both.
ALOT of those versions are the best, most spirited of songs.
I also love the Cover..
Favorite song??????
Theyre all great but for me its got to be Jailbreak. It was the album that really got me into Lizzy after a girlfriend put Emerald on the jukebox for me back in the summer of '76. Every track is a stand out classic apart from the fact that it carried the song that catapulted Lizzy into rock stardom.
i couldnt pick a favourite, theyre all brilliant and it changes every couple of months
but definitely at the moment it would be a tie between black rose, chinatown, and fighting
nice one Brad
I tend to head to "fighting" every so often also
I would have to say Black Rose. My fav album and love the artwork on that album. Plus great memories when it came out.
my all time fav is the first album "thin Lizzy" theres just something about it, i go through stages where i will play all the albums , but i always come back to "thin lizzy", maybe its because a lot of the tracks seem very personal to Philip, cliffton grange is an obvious referral to Philomenas hotel["incidently does anyone know where in manchester it is}, another obvious referral is to Gale in "look what the wind blew in", there must also be something personnal to Philip in " remembering 1 and new day, his feelings just seem to come out in the lyrics ,the musical arrangements are just so raw, theres no over fancy arrangements , just the 3 members banging out theyre music.

yea, parris1, im with you...however, Vagabonds is the one I keep going back to all the time. When I was very young I saw the band play live and this was the album they were touring. They played my home town and I had to beg by older brother to come with me to the gig as I was to young to be allowed in. I can still recall Hero and the Madman and Slow Blues though the rest of the gig is a haze. Great days !
